Way of the Warrior, Art of the Samurai
On this website you will find information on the system of Martial Arts known as Fudoshin. Our dojo is the headquarters for Fudoshin in Victoria. We are a proud member of the AOFA, the governing body for the Fudoshin Combat System.
What is Fudoshin?
Fudoshin is a system of Martial Arts training incorporating various disciplines, such as Judo, Kung-Fu, Jujutsu, Aikido and Karate Do, in order to achieve the warrior spirit of the samurai of ancient Japan. We study various combat sciences and philosophy in order to achieve this goal.
What is the AOFA?
The AOFA (Association of Oriental Fudoshin Arts) is the non-profit organisation which governs all of the Dojo teaching the Fudoshin Combat System.
The YamaGawa Dojo
Our Dojo (training place) is named the YamaGawa (meaning Mountain and Stream/River in Japanese), referring to the principle of Yin and Yang and having these elements (hard and soft, strong and flexible) working in a balance.
